  • I am able to edit AVCHD in PPro4 in High Quality, however, it does lag out and jump when I have multiple transitions or video over top of one another, or have it with multiple effects. I am using a i7 965 (3.2GHz) with 8GB of ram and Velociraptor hard drives – $5000 worth of equipment and I get lag and hangups. I wouldn’t expect a simple Intel or AMD Quad to be able to handle it at anything above draft mode.

Hey mate, I assume your sony uses the same as my SR7 and films in AVCHD

With CS3, you will have to download a plugin – I use the Mainconcept Mpeg Pro – in order for APP to be able to recognize and import the .mts files. There are stored on the Camera’s HD under AVCHD -> BDMV ->”Stream”, or at least on mine.

I found however that it is VERY sluggish to do so.

Alternately, you can upgrade to CS4, or numerous users suggest importing the file in Sony Vegas, and then exporting as HDV so you can edit in APP.

If you do with the pluggin route –
After you have installed the plugin
Instead of using the “capture function”, use the import function as you would for a regular photo, other file.

    Hope this helps
