I finally gave up on Edius 4, a few months ago, after using it for several projects. It is very realtime and has some neat features, but it simply does not come close to the feature-set and ease-of-use of Vegas, currently at Ver. 8 for me. I agree with Ron re. Titlemotion. Too bad Sony didn’t hook up with Inscriber on that one.

Earlier we heard of a 64bit version of Version 8 to go along with Vista 64. Any news or comments?

Tried the trial version for 2 weeks. Just purchased the upgrade and installed on laptop and workstation. No problems with version 8 whatsoever. The multicam is a plus and the new CG shows lots of promise.

As low as $75/hr. for client reviews, ingest and renders – all depends on situation. We have 3 linked edit bays in each studio. Soemtimes different editors working on parts of same project at different rates!

How many systems do you want/need? What type of internal and external storage devices do you need? What type of I/O and display devices do you need? With the continuous battle between Intel and AMD, processor speed and cost just keep getting better. Intel proc prices recently dropped by half.
