You could play with a keying and the echo effect, but this was a DVE effect in the 70/80’s, not really sure how to recreate.

A glow effect would take care of the first part. Then in this instance some sort of luma key was applied and a the hue was adjusted.

I’d probably just duplicate the layers, use a key, add a blur effect, then a fill effect.

Could be done with the above method, or perhaps just a luma key, with just a glow.

You composition is using 1.33 pixels. That shouldn’t be a problem, if your render settings are correct, or if your import settings are correct if you are bringing it into a NLE later. But if there is some interpretation issue, then yes, your design will get stretched(I assume to a 1280×720)

What’s confusing to me, is how you created a perfect circle, but you don’t have the Pixel Aspect Ratio correction button pressed(it’s to the right of the View pulldown). When you press that button, AE, will toggle to “corrected” view that will show you what your video will look like non-square pixels are corrected to a final source.

Here’s an old tutorial, using particle playground to blow away text like sand—you might be able to modify this to create what you need.

Granted this is sand to text, but with the right adjustments, you should be able to make it look like particles/drops falling down and creating your logo.

Sometimes my boss says things like and I want to reply just like you ” how does one even do that?”. Boss’s sure can be great and coming up with ideas…regardless of what it takes to implement them.

Anyway, your logo falls on to the screen like raindrops. First can you post the logo, might help in figuring out how to do this, or suggests alternatives. Is the logo supposed to be broken in pieces? If it’s falling like a raindrop, that’s just moving on Y, then hitting the floor/stop. Did he see a video that inspired this and if so, do you have a link?

Sorry for the questions, but I’m having a hard time visualizing exactly what your boss is trying to accomplish.

I’m using a clients fonts. In regular mode, the numbers are below the baseline and different sizes. The only way to get the numbers to match and to move to the baseline is to press the all caps button in the character window. When I do this, the typeface for the numbers changes. I’ve looked in the windows character map tool, and I don’t find “Capital Numbers”, or any numbers that match this new typeface.

I even used the simple expression text.sourceText.toUpperCase() and the letters change, but not the numbers.

The reason I was trying to find where AE was getting these numbers was so I could find the unicode, so I could write and expression to automate some work, using two different fonts in one line, with variable source text.
