Use both Avid and CS5. For my reneders, I generally use Quicktime with the Avid DNX145 codec with an alpha. Files aren’t small, but with HD sizes that’s to be expected.

Can’t speak for him, but I can give you my bosses reply, “Yeah, when we were shooting, this guy walks through the back of the shot…SO JUST DO THAT THING YOU DO AND REMOVE THEM”

Apparently all you have to do is push the “thing you do” button.

You are correct, I did not know that blend modes were disable under continous collaspse when an effect was applied.

Might be an incredibly long work around, but in the HUD comp could you apply the bezier warp to each layer. You may need to precomp each layer, if they are different sizes all into precomps of the exact same size(but with position and scale needed for the master). Then just apply the warp once and copy and paste to the other layers.

I can assure you that AE CS5 does render out to 720 x 486.

Pretty sure what’s happening is you have are trying to work with SD at a 4×3 ratio, but you’ve inadverntly set the pixel aspect ratio to square. Change it to .91 and you should be good to go.

Remove the adjustment layer from your precomped HUD. In the main comp, apply the warp directly to your precomped HUD layer.

  • Next time before trashing your prefences, check to see if the live update button is pushed. On the timeline above your modes the second button is “live update” if that has been accidentally unclicked it you won’t give live updates as you scrub through the timeline or parameters.

November 8, 2010 at 4:06 pm in reply to: Particle drop with multiple custom particles

Couple of ways to do this in Particular.

If the particle is a still, put all 26 particles in a precomp, make their duration 1 frame and sequence them with no overlap. Change the precomp to 26 frames long. In your main comp under particle choose sprite or textured polygon(polygon has more options, but it depends what you need to do) and choose your precomp as the texture. Change the time sampling to Random – Still Frame.

If you are working with 26 animations, you would need to precomp them also and sequence. But instead of “Random – Still Frame” you would chose “Split Clip – ?(depends on your animations) and change the Number of clips to 26.
