When you render, what kind of file are you creating(QT, avi, wmv) and where are you watching this file.

For instance, I have a very capable computer for AE, but if I were to render a HD quicktime-animation and try to play it on my computer, it will stutter and stop…all the information will be there the CPU’s just can’t play it. Once I import the file into my NLE(Avid) it plays fine.

If you are on a PC, try rendering to a .wmv, 350kbps and see if that plays okay—.wmv’s playback in media player pretty well. If it doesn’t stutter than, it’s just your original render is probably chocking the cpu.

  • If it’s not a problem, create a folder, drop in your project and one of the psd’s; then zip it and upload it here. Let me take a quick look and see if there is anything I notice real quick.

  • If the files are missing, collecting files isn’t going to work. Sorry, I was under the assuption that your project worked on the system with the files intact.

  • Can you open your original project and have does it still work correctly? If so, you could try “Collect the Files” located under the files tab. This will take make a new folder and copy project and all your assets to a new destination.

This probably isn’t the most optimal solution, but if you want to keep working, it’s an option that might work.

Not sure how you made your line, but try using the “Generate > Beam” effect. It easily allows you to control the end points of a line. You could use some simple expression to attach them to your boxes.

  • When you double-click and locate them is the “Sequence” check box selected? If it is uncheck that and try importing.

Otherwise, I would move everything, folders, pictures, project to hard-drive and reopen from there. Usually AE will find everything if it’s all in the same folder.

The fastest way to create those transitions, pay 29.99 and get the Bad TV plugin from AEScripts.

But if you prefer to work it out yourself, I made a quick project showing a few techniques that might help you out. 3575_battlefieldtext.aep.zip

    Create your text and add:

Transition > Block Dissolve. Set the block with set to 1000 to generate the lines and animation the transition value from 100% to 0.

Color Correcttion > Set Channel. Duplicate the layer 3 times and set each instance to a different color channel(RGB), then set the tranfer modes of each layer to Add.

Created some hold keyframes and just moved the postion around real quick over 4 frames and add some masks that subtracted different parts of the layer.

Finally I added an adjustment layer to the entire thing and used Turbulent Displace, changed my displacement to “Horizontal Displace” and used a high amount and size.

    Good luck with your project.
