Hi Jason.. I am not a Professional Editor but like you I use Vegas Pro and at my Friends Studio we use FCP. For me the results are just the same…. SV is so much more intuitive than FCP but like all software, once you get used to it then the flow stays the same… FCP set a standard when nothing else was available and once you have the Hardware then you just continue with it. I guess others will have other opinions.. but this is just my experience with using both.. It seems Broadcasters prefer FCP because that’s all they have been used too.

Hi Danny… Is this before or after you have rendered you notice these problems?

The other thing to remember is that this media has a window in it which is brighter than the rest of the image so that is what is given the effect, whereas if you have got balanced media then I guess this will not work for that. I was just trying to work out how it was done with this particular media…

Hi Jenny…. As Norman says there are a few ways to do something like this. I did a quick 5 mins just with the keyframes and brightness + a bit of contrast to maybe give you some ideas. In this clip I did 2 flashes and then the last flash is the original one..

Hi Jaanus.. The Match Output setting does seem to overcome the odd thing like you have found which is why I normally do that first.. I guess like Graham says, it can be many other things which could cause it but if you have found a fix then that’s great…

In Pan and Crop, on the actual picture do a right mouse and select Match Output Aspect..

    it says version 9 –

    ◾Microsoft® Windows® XP 32-bit SP2 (SP3 recommended) or Windows Vista® 32-bit or 64-bit (SP1 recommended)

Does not mention Win7 so maybe just maybe that’s the problem.

Hello Herman. Thanks for the explanation. It is a bit strange that Vegas did not do what you wanted it to and I can’t think of a reason why, but as long as you have fixed it then that’s great.. Regards John

Hi Herman. Maybe you can explain in a bit more detail what ” Laggyish ” looks like. Do you mean it is jumpy or hesitant, etc
