How does the audio wave form appear on the time line? a single audio track or does it show 2 tracks but waveform just in one of them?

Use the track motion. It is at the start on the time lines where the level adjustment slider is and is a small white box with an arrow in it. If you click it you can key frame where you want to adjust and just grab the edge of the box to adjust size or move.

Which version of Vegas are you using? I seem to remember that Vegas is not happy with very large jpgs. What will be the final viewing device?

I guess the 720×576 is Anamorphic as it was recorded on a 4×3 chip situation so the 720×576 should look a bit squashed in 4×3 mode. When stretched out it will be 16:9 and looking correct.
Had a lots of problem when using FCP with video from a Sony Camera which had 4×3 sensor but was actually 16:9 anamorphic.
I will leave some of the Pro’s to answer the other questions as maybe my answer may not be exact///

Someone else had this problem.. They changed the name of the media content folder and try opening the project. It got to 25% then said it can’t fine a media file so I told it the location of the file it opened. Vegas asked if I wanted to open all the media in this location, I said yes. Then it all worked……………. Worth a try

Hi Tobin.. Not sure what you are trying to show but this is a 10 minute knock-up to see if it is something like this. Obviously this is only a poor attempt just to get an idea to help the thought process but with png files and a bit of Vegas 3D and tracking you can do lots of things. With the correct graphics it can be quite good .
