I just wanted to say thanks a million for this post and the answer!

Really saved my ass too, on this music video I’m working on. – 41 clips synched in wrong sequence settings almost gave me a heart attack. I’m so glad it was this easy to fix 🙂

    Thanks!

  • I will just say it solved the lagg problem with using Vista instead og Windows 7.

Thank you very much to everyone who commented my post 🙂

But I still have my problem with my two brand new external hard drives disconnecting and then connects all the time. This is the same in Vista and Windows 7, but I guess this is not the thread to ask in.

  • Naturally, I would have concluded with that immediately, if it hasn’t been for the fact that every other program in Adobe Production Suite works splendidly. Adobe Flex and Digidesign Pro Tools as well. But as I said, I will try it on Vista, going to install it right now, as I haven’t gotten around to it yet.

Thanks for inputs so far! 🙂

  • I have about 2 TB dedicated storage.

I figured that was pretty bad formulated. I included that spec too at first, but it somehow got lost when I registered a user account here.

So the disks mentioned is only for software and cache, not the raw video in itself. However, I feel I have to mention they are external drives. Can that slow down things somehow? Even though I’m sure I tested on external and internal drives.

I almost always run system monitor when I use program like these, so I it is not something else that drains the juice. I close every other program just to be sure.

I tried to edit in sequence as well, with little luck.

But I am going to try to install another OS, because I don’t feel windows 7, which I am using now, is optimal at the time being, since it also disconnects my external hard drives all the time, which I’ve come to find out is a common problem. So I will test it on Vista, to see it changes anything.

Also, maybe I should consider stepping up to a bigger editing program like Avid. I’ve always known that I have to someday, but the user interface and design really disgusts me. It is also very different from Premiere in my opinion, so it’s a big change to take on.
