I have about 2 TB dedicated storage.
I figured that was pretty bad formulated. I included that spec too at first, but it somehow got lost when I registered a user account here.
So the disks mentioned is only for software and cache, not the raw video in itself. However, I feel I have to mention they are external drives. Can that slow down things somehow? Even though I’m sure I tested on external and internal drives.
I almost always run system monitor when I use program like these, so I it is not something else that drains the juice. I close every other program just to be sure.
I tried to edit in sequence as well, with little luck.
But I am going to try to install another OS, because I don’t feel windows 7, which I am using now, is optimal at the time being, since it also disconnects my external hard drives all the time, which I’ve come to find out is a common problem. So I will test it on Vista, to see it changes anything.
Also, maybe I should consider stepping up to a bigger editing program like Avid. I’ve always known that I have to someday, but the user interface and design really disgusts me. It is also very different from Premiere in my opinion, so it’s a big change to take on.
