Thanks for the links. I don’t think I’m going to understand this whole 0db limit unless I really spend some time researching it and I don’t have time to do that so I guess it’ll just have to be good enough.

I used Hard Limiter to push the levels to the max without clipping, but it’s still not loud enough. Do you know why 0db is the limit? Why can’t we make audio tracks that are louder than that? Why is it that even though my track is maxing at 0db but I can go to YouTube right now and find videos that are much louder without sounding like they’re clipping? How does a computer know how many decibels something is? Isn’t that relative to the power of the speaker outputting the audio?

I looked through my other recordings and it looks like it won’t accept anything over 12GB in size. I should mention that I just installed Windows 8.1 a few weeks ago after using Windows 7 for a few years and I think I’ve only encountered this issue since I got 8.

My largest file is 140GB and I have plenty others that are more than 60GB that I’ve already edited (on W7). So maybe there’s an issue with my install or with Windows 8? I don’t seem to be having any issues other than this.

The video is captured footage from a game using Mirillis Action. I use footage from this program all the time and this is the first one to give me this issue.

Unless Vegas has a limit on file size it can handle, my system shouldn’t have any problem with it. I have a Intel 4770@4.5GHz, 16GB RAM, and a GTX 780 Ti. I don’t know if any of that matters.

So just for the hell of it, I tried rendering at 14 mbps and YouTube still butchers it. Why does this happen and why do other people seem to have perfect quality but my videos get compressed to hell?

So when I use one of those profiles it is already encoding in H.264? My understanding was that H.264 delivers great quality with small file sizes and fast web streaming. Is that correct?

Do you have a suggestion for a profile and settings for 720p video for YouTube? I am doing video game gameplay and I need to have small files because my upload is fairly slow, but I don’t want to sacrifice quality if it comes down to having a larger file.
