I think you’ll find this script very helpful.

Don’t use AE to compress for the web. Render out an uncompressed version with the default Animation codec – yes it will be a large file.
Then use an encoding app such as Adobe Media Encoder, Compressor, MPEG Streamclip or Sorenson Squeeze to make the web version – preferably H.264.

In the real world, moving the camera wouldn’t cause the shadow to move. Why not just move the light? Or the light and the camera both, at different rates?

I wish I could offer more help, but I’ve never seen a rendered video come out purple.
Also, I’m a Mac guy and am not familiar with the Total Video app.
Maybe some of the p.c. heads around here can help if your problem persists.
    Best of luck.

Don’t use Quicktime X. It’s not ready for prime time. Use Quicktime 7 (should be in your utilities folder).

In Quicktime Preferences, be sure the last option, Enable Final Cut Studio Compatibility, is checked.

    You should be good.

I wonder why that gets inadvertently toggled off for so many people. My version of AE (CS 4) gives a very clear warning of the consequences of doing so, to which you must respond in the affirmative.

Are the colors shifted in the Quicktime player, your NLE, and/or when you re-import the rendered file into AE?

Are you using any kind of Color Management?

Sounds like attributes of a particle in a particle generation system.

Oops, I didn’t read the other responses before posting, so it sounds like I stole their answer.

Is your project set to 16 or 32 bits per channel?
