    Hello Lewis,

I think StorageDNA has your solution but I’m not 100% sure. My rep at https://www.vtgny.com gave me a demo of StorageDNA a fews ago and I was impressed..

    Hello Rolf,

This worked for us too. How do you build this if you have over 20 categories and you want to enable multiple checkboxes? When you add more than 5 or so the panel gets a bit out of wack when they are all on the same line. Is there a smarter way?

January 19, 2015 at 11:18 pm in reply to: Changing my recommendation re fusion drives vs SSD’s

    Hello Oliver,

I trust your judgement. Would you recommend the standard 1TB Fusion drive over the 1TB Flash Upgrade in the new 5K IMAC Retina? We’re not editing off the drive, just running Premiere, SpeedGrade and Media Encoder. Storage is currently Thunderbolt 2 and a fair amount of our footage is 4K UHD. We’ll save some cash and upgrade all the ram to 32GB ourselves. Also planning to go with their higher-end graphic card and processor. Wanted to purchase a few of these for the 4K editors so we can really see our rushes.

By the way – our world is single stream only: We’re a stock video pipeline.

    Many thanks,

    Thanks Bryson,

We’re going to stick to your recommended workflow. Correction: Redcode is one of our ‘source flavors’ and we’re still deciding our proxy – we may be on Cat Version 11 by the time we launch enterprise, so I look forward to seeing the proxy update in the guide you posted.

    Hello all,

We would like to purchase a Mac Mini this week to run server and worker. A fair amount of our source footage is 4K Redcode 8;1 Compression. Is the version below a good option?

3.0GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i7 (Turbo Boost up to 3.5GHz)
    16GB 1600MHz LPDDR3 SDRAM
1TB PCIe-based Flash Storage (Or will the 2TB Fusion be sufficient?)

    Any other pointers for us?

    Hello Micha,

I’m curious – What did you end up going with and are you editing 4K?

December 1, 2014 at 2:16 pm in reply to: Premiere Pro CC 2014 Warp Stabilizer issue

I submitted a bug request with Adobe for this issue. We’re seeing it on ProRes 422HQ Exports when a warp stabilize is added. Switching the Graphics to Software Only works but it’s slowing us down.

    Thanks Dougal,

We’re going to test this and see how it works. CatDV sent over the plugin this weekend.

November 21, 2014 at 9:14 pm in reply to: Import Directory…getting the same file multiple times?

Hello all, This is the thread I’ve been looking for. At Clippn we monitor a ‘raw assets incoming folder’ and using CatDV we accept or reject the clips. The clips have an xml sidecar with shooter metadata like city, state, country & brief description of the assets that autofill CatDV on import.

Accepted clips ‘copy’ to Premiere CC for editing & color correction and then re-import the clips into a finished assets catalogue in CatDV. We then ‘copy the CatDV metadata’ from the original asset and paste it into the new edited asset. This is getting to be very time-consuming and I have a feeling there’s a better way.

Do you think it’s possible to keep the original metadata as a sidecar in the Premiere export? Should we reject and accept in Prelude or Premiere instead of Cat? What would you do?
