Last night I decided to try rendering a 10 sec clip and it did work out fine with Lower Field First. Upper Field gave the jittery results on panning.. and None was ok but not as smooth as Lower. So I must have messed up the naming of the original post, sorry and thanks for your help. Makes sense I should use the same as source!

Hey Mike, thanks for the response but it comes out bad when I leave it as default, the render template leaving it at Lower Field First seems to make a difference when playing back on DVD players. Why is this? Its not one player tested on 3 even on pc you can tell the jittery pans .. and its smooth as butter on DV source. If I change the render template to None (progressive) it’s better but still not as clean. So I know I definitely wont leave it on Lower Field First.

thanks John, that is what i will do! can you explain why i would choose the 60i template? does this relate to the 29.970fps my source files are in at all? i see the 50i template too, what’s the difference basically from 50i-60i?

Ya i have external for backup.. that’s not my question. I’m specifically asking for Vegas use, rendering and working with the projects. Does it perform better/faster if installed on one drive (C:) and then all the media on D: and rendering to that drive too? Is that the “proper” way of setup.. sounds like it is.
