  • Hi Jason,
Did you sort out the syncing problem?
I have a Canon HV30 and was thinking of buying an Olympus digital audio recorder as an extra sound device which I can sync up with the pictures later.
Which one do you have? I was thinking of the Olympus DS-50.
I could buy a 48 kHz device but they’re more expensive.
    Thanks, Joe

Hello, I sorted out the problem. Even though the Sony camera I was using (PD150) can play back NTSC tapes, it can not be used to import. That’s just the way it is with a lot of Sony cameras. You need to import on a camera that will record as well as play back in NTSC. I used a Z1, first changing the settings on the camera to NTSC. Hope that helps.

Thanks, I hadn’t tried that but it was already on ‘read and write’ so it’s not making any difference…

    Yes, I tried Easy Setup.
And yes, the camera does play back NTSC tapes.
On the settings menu in VCR mode I have chosen NTSC PB (which I assume means playback?)
The only thing I can think is to try using a device which also records in NTSC.
    Any other suggestions still welcome…
