well, unfortunately, I don’t have a fix, but I have had the same problem with both Studio versions 5 and 6. Are you using local storage or a san…If san, is it Xsan or something else? are you very careful where you put your render folder? Do you have read/write access to all your drives if using San?
We have our FCPs on a Rorke San using Command Soft software and we have had this issue all the time. We are working on a restoration project of Saturday Night Live, going on to the 3rd season, so all our sources are 1″ so far…fun fun…but we started on our San, then we got more storage specifically for the FCPs, and when they started using that storage, they never moved all the stuff off the original San (the original San is really for our After Effects department) so with render folders in various places, it was very hard to track down if they had write access to all their volumes. This new season, starting in a couple months, we are going to be VERY meticulous as to where things are saved, like having everything for a show on the same volume, inside the same folder to keep housekeeping at a minimal, but theoretically, you only need to mount 1 volume and have read/write access to it per show…that will eliminate any access issues to all the files and hopefully it will stop that error. (BTW…everything we have done locally has not had this file locked error)
