yes, there are a plethora of color space options in CS3…I’m sure CS4 is the same…haven’t upgraded yet…but within the next couple weeks we will be.

I haven’t found any that really work well. Some of my results from importing the QT from AE back into FCP look like the RGB 601/709 issue you get with importing RGB into AVID incorrectly…but the ones that don’t mess the gamma up change the color…my tests were with color bars so I could see how it really affected exact colors.

thanks, someone asked….we would normally go HD SDI out of a 1500, to the codec, but someone specifically asked about firewire…they can always convert in compressor…but our FCPs at work all have capture cards, either Kona or BlackMagic…

when I collect files, I choose all, can i just copy the files for that particular comp, or if there are many comps using the same media, can I just point them all to the same folder?

in other words, what is the best way to handle working with multiple comps and the same media?

so i got the multimachine render going…now trying to get the automated QT creation happening…when i drag the comp a second time, go to render settings: custom: use all proxies… and then in output moule, i select my particular codec, yes? DVCPro 1080i as this would have it.

what system actually creates the QT?

so now that I have a chance to test this….can someone give me explicit directions? I would research all this myself, but I am under the gun now, and only have until wednesday to do make it work.

I have a composition ready to go…it is loaded up…what steps from here? i’m not an AE guy…I’m an Avid/FCP editor and don’t use AE, so I apologize…our designers are too busy at the moment to work with me, so I’m on my own…

i have created a watch folder…i was about to collect files…am i on the right path? do I need to send the sequence to my render queue at all on the main system? or is that what sending it to the watch folder does?

a bit late, but maybe this will help someone else if not shed some more light on this issue…

if you are inserting to tape…in editing mode inside edit to tape…and you get black frames at the end of your edit…check your device control preset…if you have anything set in your playback offset…change it to 0…from my tests, it offsets your edit, leaving the edit points on tape correct, but your edit points in your sequence offset by whatever you have set for…leaving black either before (negative number) or after (positive number) your edit points…

also, if you are using a panasonic deck, you should use a Panasonic preset…if there isn’t one, choose the closest preset, check the offset, and do a couple quick tests before you go and possibly ruin someone’s master, :)!

sorry to bring this back to life…once you set the control to LTC, did you use any offsets as well?
