The thing that fixed it for me was updating my OSX to 10.9 i thought it to be a Mac/Quicktime problem cause the older stations didnt have the issue at all!

this is still an issue with us…i have to have the online editors export Animation codec…no ProRes here!!! anything??

may be its the workflow, edit the HDV up to a ProRes timeline, us the Prores timeline as the master for your transcodes…either h.264 or WMV (with flip4mac) for distribution of projects for like the internet…. the encoder in compressor or others, seem to want to see a full intraframe master…not the predictive frames of the HDV stuff!

the fourCC code shows xd59 which only corresponds to a MPEG2 encode but the colorspace is yuv422
also when it plays in Quicktime it shows it as ;
Apple XDCAM HD422 720p60 (50 Mb/s CBR), 1280 x 720 (1248 x 702), Millions
but it should also be CBR encode not VBR as the sony spec is for CBR @ 50Mbps -
i’m back been quit a month… i got the hdmi to work with the dell 2408 wfp monitors…it’s just that the output is very soft focus… now dealing with finding out where the problem is mulibridge output or dell.
i checked the hd-sdi and its good….
back to the fray

i would love to use the hdmi but it didn’t work…thats when i noticed the digital cinema settings were gone… i’ll try again tommorow,
