the audio is from an A7RII and have already tried converting to .wav but no joy.

Edit….it’s not fine when scaled down to 1920×1080.
Something’s up with auto on export – any pointers appreciated

    Thanks Marc.

Apologies for missing the more suitable Basics forum – I did look but obviously too fast.

    Thanks Dave,

So any work done in AE has to be rendered and exported there only.
Can it be just rendered in AE and then opened in Compressor where there is less damage done on export?
What is the difference between rendering and exporting if exporting can only be done in AE?

Is it better to compress in Compressor than in AE?

    How exactly?
Is there a way you can see the effect whilst using the slider as in Levels in Photoshop when pressing Alt whilst moving the sliders gives you a graphic view of what is being clipped or blown out?

    Thanks for the reply Walter.

Would you say that auto contrast is inclined to destroy or compress pixel highlight and shadow information as well?

    Many thanks Rafael.
Is there a way of knowing if footage is 8-bit or 10-bit?
Tried in places like Item Properties but the only mention of bit is in relation to sound.
