I ended up using a work around where I animated the objects from the position keyframes within the layers.

The problem was initially I wanted to do the animation via the camera layer but for some reason using the camera layer caused the pixelation.

Ok here’s a screenshot, that red blotch is actually an illustrator file that should be text but got all blurred…:

Hey Isacc, nice 3d work. Yes basically think of a donut in 3d space. I basically ended up using a work around but I’m still slightly perplexed that AE doesn’t natively work in 3d. It needed to be in 3d because I’m exploring other objects w/ the camera in 3d space. I’m used to using 3d Stroke which does this but at my new job they don’t have the trapcode plugins.

  • ok. This is a must have addition for the next version.

  • Thanks Vince. Yea it’s normally something I’d never do but it’s a client request. It’s a huge project with an insane amount of cut points. Thanks for the short cut tip. I wasn’t aware of that, that’ll definitely help a bit!

thanks for the response. I got it! For anyone else experiencing stuttering playback in cs5 here’s what I did:

I went to start and ran services.msc I then disabled wmpnetwrok (the windows media player network servicse) and then I disabled the windows search indexer. I’ve since restaretd the windows search indexer and havn’t had play back issues so it may have just been the windows media player network service that was causing the problem!

December 4, 2009 at 9:53 pm in reply to: creating animation for web video. workflow

Let me clarify by what I mean by “FLASH” I have no problem with a .SWF file. as the file format I just want to use AE rather than Flash the content creation program to create the animation. Thanks for the advice. The content will be 10% video footage and the rest images. ( I am a photographer and want to introduce myself and my work via the video)

forgive me if you misunderstood. My inquiry meant to imply a response that would tell me not just if such a feature was present but also where it could be located within the interface. Forgive the confusion.

mmh try the shortcut “Y” and then move the anchor point. I think that should do it….
