I just noticed as well that HITFILM no longer loads and starts, only the flash page. (I purchased the Suite)

Could antivirus be at fault?

I’m about at the point of facing reloading it all again, but as I recall when I purchased Boris Red and BCC there was a problem with their install process and the ability to integrate into SVP. Had to do the install with their tech on the line to get the FX to appear in SVP.

I clean up and delete the empty tracks before I render. Does not combining like tracks have any similar effect as well?

For Ex: Images spread out across tracks wherein they could be grouped on a singular track.

These are all fresh installs and a brand new system.
I’m at the point where I would pay to ship it out and have it checked out.

I also recently noticed that the effect an FX has on the event also is altered by where it appears on the chain. IE…PAN CROP is always by default the first in the chain. If for example you mask or crop the image then decide to utilize SONY BORDER the effect will be vastly different if it is placed before or after PAN CROP.

This is also true with varied FX chains and can really cause some concern as to the why? Sony DEFOCUS is another that is so dependent on where it falls in the chain that the FX will almost become non functional.

Not sure if this is mentioned in the documentation it may well be.

…one last item….I am currently rending the 6 minute project in 15 second blocks and each segment is taking about 10 minutes.
Seems an inordinate amount of time.

Hey Steve,
I don’t use cookie cutter to mask I do all my masking using pan/crop. I went back to the basics to be sure all my footage was the same format as the properties and also tried with various images to no avail. The images I experimented with were all low res small files JPGS with no effects at all. Also in addition to what I did notice was the moment I selected the masking box SVP ran at a crawl. Selecting SYNC CURSOR, dragging the time line or just selecting the mask anchor points all happens with a very pronounced delay.

I’ve experimented with only using two low res images on separate tracks and created random masks on both. Solo one track it plays, slower but it plays. Two tracks…the preview window chokes and displays … as it skips frames.

Something else is causing an issue here I cannot discover what it could possibly be. Brand new build, fresh installs with all brand new software so where to look now?

The only common ground the this computer and my old one share is I utilize MACDRIVE to give me access to my apple external drives.
Other than that I am scratching my head.

At this point I would pay to ship to machine and have it checked from top to bottom to solve this issue. 10K for a new build with everything I needed has now become a brick in this instance.
Changing the preview settings does not help at all.

Surely someone has come across a similar issues as mine at some point.

Something I never thought of but I will certainly give it a try.
I should have been clearer to state it does not happen only with that particular image but others as well.

Since I built the maching about 5 months ago I have not done any masking and was quite miffed to have the same issue again.

Had no idea this was a limitation of this function. I personally don’t use it as I prefer to keep my heirarchy folder structure.
