try inquiring at the website mp3car.com. They sell a lot of monitors and accessories for vehicle hookups and likely have that or a similar product.

I wouldn’t use a passive distribution amp. Especially given the length of cable run involved I would use an active da, such as https://www.kramerelectronics.com/products/model.asp?pid=687#t. Still, I can’t find any reference to how far it will drive the signal before any significant degradation. BTW, you definitely need to be 100% certain of which projectors will be used before you show up for the job so that you are sure to bring the right equipment. From your description of the setup it wasn’t obvious to me that you were sure about the projectors. You might want to see if the client will allow you to spec the projectors being used so that you control all aspects of the tech side of things.

XH-A1s at B&H Photo, $3K. Great cam. Still uses mini-dv tape, records either HDV or SD, so best of both worlds. You can always add a third party flash or hard drive recorder later for simultaneous tape/tapeless operation, or buy both now for almost your $4K budget and you’ve got a great kit.

If the tape was recorded in PAL, you definitely need a PAL playback deck. The XL-1 cannot play back DVCAM.

Good luck David. For the future you might want to keep track of the Sola ENG. I heard they are coming out with a new version with interchangeable power cords so you won’t be stuck with the power tap connector or forced to make a warranty killing modification.

Discmakers (https://www.discmakers.com) is a pretty good outfit with a comprehensive range of services and different price levels. They do both duplication and replication, jacket design and printing and also sell duplication equipment and supplies.

You will likely be paying a lot for the Sony name. I just bought an LCD4Video model HDV-Z96 which is only $200.00, puts out more light than the Lightpanels unit and has a better filter attachment system. None of these lights are really very good out past 6 – 10 feet. If you want some good throw more like a traditional quartz fixture you might want to look at the new Lightpanels Sola ENG. I think that’s also my next move.
