Hi everyone.I’ve got a big dilemma.Planning to buy a camera and i found Canon XL 2. I liked it’s features. But there’s one big concern.Or may be it is not?I need a clarification. It does not shoot HD.But as I understand now everyone shoot in HD.Can buying a non HD camera be a mistake? now??Or I shouldnt worry???Are there any alternatives to XL2, shooting 24p and 60i but in HD.
And my budget is around 4000 USD.

    Please help me!!!!))))

I love the Canon XH A1S, I normally shoot with a DSLR, but when i need to shoot long shows with unbroken takes, i borrow the A1 from a friend. Costs about 4k retail, its a great camera.

XH-A1s at B&H Photo, $3K. Great cam. Still uses mini-dv tape, records either HDV or SD, so best of both worlds. You can always add a third party flash or hard drive recorder later for simultaneous tape/tapeless operation, or buy both now for almost your $4K budget and you’ve got a great kit.
