“Why wouldn’t it be?”
Well, on one of Vegas 8’s versions release notes they mention that Panasonic M2TS is not supported (IE there is difference between Sony M2TS files and Pana M2TS files).
So it is better to ask someone with experience rather than download all kinds of edit SW and fully try it.
I have the same WD MyBook Essential Edition 2.0 500GB connected via USB 2 – Haven’t noticed any problems in rendering HDV (m2t) on the external drive and writting it back to tape.
well, I guess you have originally video with two audio tracks only (stereo). In brief, you need first to set up your project (FILE->PROPERTIES) as 5.1 audio, and than at least to add audio channels to populate front speakers sound and back speakers sound. At last you need to render your sound to AC3 file and render your Video to MPG. When you are done with that use those files in Architect to burn your DVD.
Hi Matt,
I have the same problem with my HC7. When I use the capture utility which comes with that Video camera I get the right metadata (by which the utility builds an album). When I drag it from that utility to Vegas 8 time line, all I get is the time the footage was captured.

in reply to: media length
Edward,
I know that but my question was: If I change it in the preferences, the change is reflected in the time line, but when I change it in the media itself, it has not effect – at all – on the length – Why is that?
