I meant is your client viewing on a 16:9 native or 4:3 native monitor?

Have you tried updating your display drivers?

If the asset is encoded to 16:9, it should display 16:9 on a 16:9 monitor. If the monitor is 4:3, it will be letterboxed. Which is your client using?

Try using Interpret Footage on the clip and set it to .9 PAR; if that doesn’t work, then don’t use the H.264 codec…Encore doesn’t support it.

Yes, fine as in faster and less buggy.

My system is super fast and runs Premiere Pro 2 and AE 7 quite satisfactory.

Weird, especially since Encore 2.0 uses the same playback engine as Premiere Pro 2; I would expect that if you see performance problems in Encore, you’d see similar behavior in PPro 2.

So what kind of performance and bug issues do you see?

Nope, I’ve never used Sorenson to encode MPEG-2. Sounds like a field mismatch, though. Maybe better to encode in Encore.

What’s to fix? Sounds like a player setting, to me.

Not sure, usually you would do that from Encore.

Skip the conversion to MPEG in Squeeze…instead, import the QT ref file directly into Encore.

    See if that helps.
