    Nope. Sorry.

First thing: update to Encore 1.0.1 (free download) and see if that solves your problem.

Examine the menus that are in Encore’s library in Photoshop’s Layers tab. That should give you an idea of how to create them for Encore.

Is it uncompressed? Not to worry, Encore will make it fit.

It is possible using multiple motion menus- you’d need to use Premiere or After Effects to create the motion menu video backgrounds, then link each button to a separate motion menu. It would be a lot of work.

Instead, I would recommend using the features provided natively in DVD-Video. Button highlight graphics to indicate menu status.

Obviously this isn’t going to fit on a dvd and is going to make encore go totally nuts if I even try to import the file much less transcode it.

Whatever would make you think that?

If your movie is 2 hrs or less, Encore will automatically transcode it to fit your project with very good to good quality. What format is the file in now?

Well, there’s your problem (and it’s not really a problem at all).

The maximum data rate for video in DVD-Video is around 9.6 MBps. With 30 minutes of video, you are not going to come near to filling your disc. But if you use the Automatic transcode setting, you will have the highest possible bit rate.

What’s the duration of your video file?

Encore Preview mode does not show user ops settings. Burn a DVD RW from your project and test that in a DVD player to test your user ops settings.

You need to go back to Premiere, uncheck “optimize stills” in the AVI export dialog, and then re-export. Or export an MPEG-2 from Premiere.

“Optimize stills” is supported in Encore 2.0.
