    I just lost the biggest authoring contact I have ever obtained to an error which i just can’t figure out. I am using adobe encore and every time I attempt to transition between clips on the dvd the disc pauses and leaves a “ghost image” of the final visible frame from the previous clip before moving to the next clip. This only seems to happen when the transition is a fade to…and out of…black. I tried adding extra frames of black to the beginning and end of all clips to no avail. To say that I am disappointed is to put it mildly. I am obviously not under any time constraints here because I have already blown my opportunity but if anyone has any ideas as to how I can avoid this in the future it would be appreciated.

    Thanks;

    Dan

    You need to go back to Premiere, uncheck “optimize stills” in the AVI export dialog, and then re-export. Or export an MPEG-2 from Premiere.

    “Optimize stills” is supported in Encore 2.0.

    Thanks Joe……Makes sense…I’ll try it at my earliest opportunity.
