    Hello Kevin,

    Thanks for your answer.

Multiprocessing was off. I tried it again to be sure.

Could it be some other preference setting? Like:
    – ‘Disk cache enabling’ (it’s on: size 50000 -on a MP Quad, 16GbRam, AtiRadeon 4870, and plenty space)
    – Conformed Media cache: it is on a different disk than my bootdrive and software storage (…/AppSupport/Common/).
    – Cache: also on a different disk than my bootdrive and software storage (…/Lib/caches/Adobe/AE CS4.

You talk about a temporary project version that can ‘serve’ out to other cpu’s for rendering.
In an earlier thread (https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/202/888452) i mentioned a problem with AE when it started up. AE told me about 20 times in a popup that it could not connect to my server ‘MacBookPro’. This still happens unless i connect my Laptop to my MacPro.

Does it sound that these 2 problems are related to each other?

    Best,
    Jochum

    Hello Dave,

    Thank you for your reply.

I fixed the network by just turning on the MBP; no popups occurred. But it would be too silly to turn on 2 computers to make AE work normally on my MP.
Somehow AE want’s this network of 2 mac’s, but it does not make sense to me. Why? Is it normal AE does look for this network (for rendering perhaps)? Can it be turned off in preferences of AE?

    Jochum
