I use typical post production programs like FCP Studio, After effects, Nuke, Shake, etc… Do you mean that there’s no need to use underscores
when working with those programs?

So then i guess that the right way to do would be stay ProRes all the way and use ProRes 4444 only for mastering or transferring to AE, for example, right?

thanks zane, i just formatted the hard drive and reinstalled most of the software, it was easier and quicker than i thought it would be.
I’m working now on 10.6.2 and everything seems working just fine, fingers crossed.

So it seems that my Mac is working ok. I agree, no need for formatting.
I understand that formatting is only necessary in case of big hd problems.

Anyway, there is no way to change the names in FCP, right?
