The video looks fine, both on YouTube and here on the COW. Perhaps you are seeing problems from your computer trying to playback the file.

Bobby, from a quick search it seems that the camera does output a digital video signal. If that cable you provided the link for has the proper connections on each end to connect from your camera to your computer then it should work. I would guess that the camera has a 4 pin connection, while your computer should have the 9 pin. Once connected with the proper firewire cable FCP should see the camera for capture.

Gee, I didn’t mean to step on anyone’s toes. It just seemed that she was asking a fairly simple question that could have been answered fairly simply. As in, “$X an hour is a good rate, so a weekly flat rate would be $Y, plus $X an hour for every extra hour needed.”

While you all make excellent points, I think you’ve missed Rachel’s question, which is: “How much should I pay the editor that I have hired?” …. not, “how do I determine how much to charge to edit?”
I am just a hobbyist so I can’t help, but would you professional editors out there please answer her question?

In the View pop-up menu (the third one to the right – looks like a square) at the top of the window, make sure it is set to RGB. I’m guessing that you accidentally switched it to Alpha.

Thanks for the clarification Steve. But as CC versions change (ie., a CC3 two years from now) won’t that mean that any projects created in them can’t be opened in CS6? Or will we have to keep “back saving” until we have saved it in CC1 so that it is usable in CS6?
