Glad you got it worked out.

The fact that you included dimensions made me first think that you wanted to actually build this display. But since you posted the question on the C4D forum I’m guessing that your question is how to create it in C4D. If that’s the case, placing your lipstick model in a cloner set to grid array would be easiest. Perhaps one array for the lipstick cases and another matching array for the lipstick itself with a random effector set to color to control the lipstick shades. Align the lipsticks vertically to fit inside the cases and you could even have them rotate as they extend if that’s something you’re looking for.

Just imagining one scenario, but hope this helps.

I see that the author of that tutorial did not respond to the question concerning which plugin he used to do that effect.

    Here’s one possibility:

Great. I’m glad you found the problem.

For future reference, it can be very helpful for those of us trying to diagnose your problem if you will include all relevant information (plugins used, etc.), as well as the project file itself if possible, when first seeking assistance. There is nothing better than working with the actual scene in order to see what’s going on, and where any problems or misunderstandings may be.

    Take care

Google is your friend. Search for “sound effects,” or “swish sounds,” or for whatever suits your fancy.

If you are using the basic C4D Emitter object there is no actual object to be rendered. The Emitter object is only a shape (pyramid or cone) from which the particles are emitted. The Emitter object is shown only in the View window for reference – it is never rendered. If you want the particles to appear to be coming from an object, add one to your scene and position and scale it as you desire.

If you mean that the object you have assigned to the particles (a sphere, for example) is not showing except when you render, then you need to check “Show Objects” in the Emitter Object’s “Particle” settings.

If none of the above answers your question, or if you are using some other particle system (X-Particles, for example), please provide a download of your project so that we can get a better idea of what you’re asking about.

  • If I understand your question correctly, the answer is no. You cannot have FCP play through the QT Player. You would need to export the video file first, and then open it in QT Player.

The only way to have FCP play through anything other than its own windows is to use a converter card or box to output video to another monitor.

If you just want to import C4D models into AE, and have a version of AE with Cineware, check out these tutorials, or others like them:

    https://greyscalegorilla.com/tutorials/importing-3d-models-into-after-effects-using-cineware/

    or

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjCa47OW2V0

While Cineware allows you to import C4D scene files with animation into AE, as far as I know the only way to do basic animation of C4D models inside of AE is to use Video Copilot’s Element 3D plug-in. You can use the OBJ parameters of plug-ins like Form or Plexus to import and animate OBJ files that you export from C4D, but in those cases you aren’t using the whole model, but only the points that make up the vertices.

  • Some C4D plugins and add-ons like TurbulenceFD and OctaneRender require a Nvidia graphics card (CUDA), but C4D itself only uses the CPU for rendering.

Make sure the “Save” boxes in both the Renderer selections and the Save window itself are checked. If they’re not, you won’t be able to enter a File location for your render and the Options button will be greyed-out.

If that wasn’t the problem you might want to try reinstalling.
