It works fine for me in R18. Make sure that the dynamics tag is on the Voronoi Fracture and not on the object itself, and that you don’t have Dynamics inadvertently set to “Off,” or the Enable box unchecked. I haven’t used R19 yet, but I know there are improvements to its Voronoi Fracture, so possibly it handles dynamics differently.

As far as I can tell that is the normal functionality of the Layer Manager. To avoid “drilling down” to select each object inside of a null individually, right click on the null and choose “Select Children.” Then you can either right click on it again and choose “Add to New Layer,” or right click in the Layer Manager window and choose “New Layer from Object Selection,” or select an already existing layer in the Layer Manager, right click on it and choose “Add Objects to Layer.”

The easiest way would be to use textures with alpha channels as decals. You can use selection tags to apply each texture to a specific area on your model.

You might want to check out Red Giant’s Magic Bullet Suite, or one of the individual plugins it contains.

With the layer selected, go to Layer > Transform > Center Anchor Point in Layer Content.

September 20, 2017 at 3:03 am in reply to: Dynamic texture mapping using video on top of 3d models?Yes, you can use video as a texture on a model in C4D, which I think would be the easiest and quickest way to simulate what was being done live through tracking and projecting in your YouTube example.
You could also use camera mapping to project a texture onto a model. And in order to recreate the tracking of the projection you would simply link the projection camera to your model so that it was always in the same relative position to the model as it moved (like a projector on a frame that was attached to a dancer and pointing at his chest); which is easy enough but would essentially give you the same result as using video as a texture. I guess it just depends on what your goal is.
If you don’t own C4D yet you could try the trial version to see if it will suit your needs.
Just out of curiosity, are you really planning to PROJECT video onto the fabric of your clothing like they did in the video? Or did you mean that the fabric would be something like a flexible LED mesh that would display the video itself? It is a fascinating concept, and one that could be a lot of fun to implement and design for.

Just make sure they are equal, otherwise the birthrate of particles in the viewport (editor) will be different than the birthrate during render. In your case you had the Birthrate Renderer at a lower value than the Birthrate Editor, resulting in fewer particles being created during rendering. Set your Birthrate Renderer to 350 to match the Birthrate Editor.

Here’s a screen shot of a scene with 12 spot lights, plus an ambient light for fill, illuminating a blue solid with an E3D layer (skull) in front of it.

I don’t use E3D much, but if your research shows that the graphics card makes a difference in the number of lights which can be used I’m using a GTX 980Ti 6GB.
