I’m not trying to just blow off your question, but as you are new to C4D the best tip I can offer is to get familiar with the built-in help system. To access it right click (or select it and enter the keyboard shortcut CMD + F1) on just about any icon/property/command in the interface and select “Show Help.” The Help window will open up with a description of the selected tool or property. Unfortunately, the help system is somewhat inconsistent in that some entries will be very detailed and helpful while others will not be, but the entry for the Spline Pen is one of the former and should answer your question. As Brian mentioned, the tools and their capabilities may vary with C4D versions, but the help system will be current to your installed system and will often reference the changes between versions.

Selina,
If you can’t get it worked out post your project file.

To slow the falling rocks set the speed to zero (Emitter > Particle > Speed) and reduce the project’s gravity setting (Project Settings [cmd+D] > Dynamics > General).

To reduce the rock’s reactions when they hit the ground increase the friction and reduce the bounce in the dynamics tag’s settings for the rocks and ground.
You could also use “Another Object” for the collision shape of the rocks, like a platonic that fits the basic shape of the rock but which doesn’t roll like a sphere. Add that chosen object to your scene and adjust its size to best fit the rock. Drag it into the “Object” window of the Collision shape, and turn off its visibility.

December 26, 2017 at 4:12 pm in reply to: Procedural text animation in Cinema 4D with Sketch and ToonI’m sorry, but I’m not seeing any extra outlines next to the letters, either in the main png output (see below), or any of the multipasses. Or maybe I’m missing something…? Could you provide a screenshot of your rendered image showing the outlines?

Edit: Or are you referring to the black outlines on the letters themselves… and if so, does Michael’s suggestion address your issue?

If by “background” you mean a plane to which you have applied your picture of a lake, add a basic reflection to the material (click the “Add” button and select “Reflection (Legacy) under “Type”) and reduce the Global Reflection Brightness in order to see both the image and the reflection.

If that doesn’t help, post your project file so we have a better idea about what you’re doing.

Yes it was. Here’s a download link for the latest installers but don’t expect much, if any, help from GenArts.

It is unclear to me what you mean by “extrude group.” Could you post your project, or a screenshot of the object menu with all hierarchies expanded?

It seems to be working again.
