It is a backlighting device of some sort for tracing ease. If you are doing multiple frames you can buy a registration bar and the paper will line up every time… Oh yeah, you need the paper punched too.

December 25, 2006 at 10:20 pm in reply to: how do I acheve the greenish tint from the Matrix movies? You might try an overlay of lime green and test the layer options, may do it. Or try a glow layer of the matrix images and then run a green overlay and see what that does.

Thanks Dave, I finally got it solved last night… What a drag to have that happen, but I did exactly what you suggested and it works and also drags all the other missing files in as well.
Thanks again.

August 26, 2005 at 11:40 pm in reply to: Flying Flags – how to make a realistic image with corporate logo in a flag shapeI think there are some plugins that would give you a desireable effect. Try http://www.alienskin.com their Xenofex has a flag plugin that looks pretty good.
I have had great success with painting shadows and highlights on a field incluging the logo then turning image on it’s edge deform the entire pic repeatedly with DISTORT – SHEAR. Gives a great look… Maybe I do the bending in SHEAR first and then paint in shadows on one side of the deformation and a highlite at the crest on the “lumps”.
Check the plugin, it would be easiest.

Everybody uses terms that are different and they get confusing from station to station and from coast to coast…
A Cold Open starts the news show without identifying the anchors.
A Living Hold is a background or sceen that has an open end it may have a cycling or looped backgroud so it just keeps going.
Tool Kit is generally the pieces or components of a production as clean elements and not composited so the station can continue to play with those components.
Mortise??? Not sure but could be the format and common elements for an Over The Shoulder graphic that can be built on for daily graphic needs…?
