Thanks very much – I’ll try that.

Stupid me – I didn’t need to mention my camera at all – all the audio I’m referring to has been WAV files from my ZOOM ( I synch up in post).

    Much obliged!

“Just import it. Convert it to the Avid MXF file. AMA is good for getting ACCESS to the footage (as the name states, Avid Media ACCESS), but not all files are well suited for working with in their native format. Even a QT file in an Avid codec can have issues, so just transcode it to DNxHD and use that.”

    Shane,

I’m a little confused – or maybe I’m not. You’re suggesting the original poster convert his file to AVID MXF. You closed by saying he should transcode it to DNxHD.

Is there any confusion there or, is it the case that one can transcode a file into any one of the Avid HD codecs but that any file transcoded or imported into AMC becomes Avid MXF media regardless of codec used on import/transcoding?

    Thank you Michael.

    I am using AE 5.5. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.

I’m not looking for any particular compression (size file) I’m just trying to get the best output for use back into Sony Vegas Pro 10 (which does a remarkably good job with these files right out of the camera).
