Never had trouble ’till recently uploading and editing audio files from my Canon 5D Mark II. Vegas won’t play them but I can play these WAV files in Windows Media Player, etc.

When I apply them to the timeline in Vegas there is no real waveform, I hear mostly garbage. This began around the time I started recording with the 48khz 24 bit setting in my ZOOM H4n. The thing is, some events I recorded using this same setting have come out OK.

    Appreciate any thoughts!

    Hey Jim–

I’ve had similar problems (but not specific to your Canon 5D Mark II). No clue why, but I found a solution by just running the WAV file through a freebie audio app (like dbPowerAmp) or Levelizer and just outputting a new WAV file (changing nothing).

I guessed in my case that Vegas just didn’t like whatever flavor was the initial WAV file.

Thanks very much – I’ll try that.

Stupid me – I didn’t need to mention my camera at all – all the audio I’m referring to has been WAV files from my ZOOM ( I synch up in post).

    Much obliged!
