I really don’t know exactly how the 35mm print was copied, but the quality is far superior to the VHS version, even with dirt marks at head and tails of the 4 reels.

I’d be interested in the company you do work for, re: remastering 35 mm prints as I might need my own master for GB and France.

captured in ProRes, put the DVD thru streamclip to produce the QT file. I’m gone for 2 wks and once I get back I’m going to pick up with DVDSP and start at the beginning. Meantime I got a friend at an agency to make a DVD master from my QT file for my director friend.

I know it’s one of those things that once I understand it it will probably be simple. Took me a long time to figure out pan/scan.

thanks, all of you for trying to figure out what I did. Steenbecks were easier, just forward and reverse and an occasional light bulb replacement.

Was no betacam, it was from a dvd master that was made from a digi-beta. It was a pretty big clip, 87 minutes and total 283 GB! That could be the problem?

I need a dvd that can play in both CRT tv and flatscreen tv. I did one last month with HD & SD successfully. But this source was from a dvd demo reel that needs some cuts so it can be shown to whomever out there. I can just leave it 4:3 and have black on sides if need be. Unless there’s other options.

Thanks, I think I’d like to try to burn them myself, been burning discs since Napster… but if I fail, I’ll try to find someone on Craig’s list.

Found the source, original audio was way too high, my guru brought it down. God bless FCP gurus.

Not sure what you mean, can you give me more detail? Thanks.

audio is 16 bit, audio comes from a DV camera with video/audio. I did 2 separate narrations on same camera and they were good. Then producer wanted a new narrator so I did a 3rd one, exactly like the other two except this one has pops.

It also spread pops to clips that didn’t have any before.
