I made the mistake of setting up my timeline sequence as AJA Kona3 1080p23.98 instead of Apple ProRes 422 1920×1080 24p. Once I created the proper sequence and copied and pasted my timeline into this new sequence and rendered- everything was in sync upon exporting a QUICKTIME.

October 8, 2012 at 9:04 pm in reply to: How to transfer P2 Files from HPX 170 to Laptop via USB port? Converter needed?Your camera already has a Type mini B connector (USB ver.2.0). You don’t need an additional cable or adapter. If you have the proper USB cable you are good to go.

Thanks guys for the help. I’m up and running. I still have an issue upon shutdown of the computer- where I am getting stuck on a blue screen. So, to alleviate that issue I am trashing preferences every time prior to shutdown.
Thanks again for the assistance.

Jerry,
Thanks for getting back to me. This all started yesterday. I used FCS remover to remove all FCS files. Than installed OS 10.6.3. Once that was finished I loaded Final Cut directly from the disks and received an ” Installation Successful” dialog box.
So you are saying- do it all over again? Not a problem just want to confirm.

I’m a big fan of G-Technology external drives. Simple to use. Incredibly reliable. I have stacks of them and feel they just can’t be beat.

Okay….I think the amount of response to my inquiry tells me pretty much everything I need to know about these cameras. They just aren’t being used by professionals.

I will give your suggestions a try.
In an attempt to alleviate the problem- I converted all of my video to ProRes, re-edited the piece, exported a QUICKTIME movie and then took that into Compressor to create an H.264 file.
That worked. Why? I’m not sure.
