There is a bug report into Adobe on this issue. I just wanted to spread the news so others don’t get bitten.

When I need to include the PP animation, I use a screen capture software and run the entire slide show (quickly) then use freeze frames to time to speaker.

    Good Luck,

    Hey Oliver,

Anybody brave enough to try the new updates yet. The last version was pretty buggy. One wonders if the new version fixed those bugs, exchanged the old bugs for new, or combined the bugs into a new and exciting package:-)

I’ve got two projects in cue. Once they’re out the door, I’ll give a look and report back.

    Cheers,

March 20, 2018 at 10:11 pm in reply to: Premiere Work space disappears

I’m running into the similar issue w/ Premiere 2018. I did see on-line advice to “Restore Saved Workspace” (Workspace drop down menu) as a possible fix. I did create extra Workspace templates, so if one went blank I could switch to the other and keep working. Also, I created a new project and ported the Seq into it, and that seemed to straighten things out. So, perhaps we’re dealing w/ corrupted Workspace code. I’d love to hear a definitive solution.

I suppose we’re privileged to be a part of Adobe’s global beta tester program:-)

    Good Luck,

    Tom,

I have successfully used Aero Quartet (repair@aeroquartet.com) to fix corrupted KiPro footage. There is in-place a FREE process of sending some of the footage to them to check and see if they can fix it. If they can they will send you software to repair for a nominal charge.

    Good Luck

Thanks for the thought. I’ll send a note over to Imagine, see if they’ve encountered this issue and report back.

I’m typically shooting w/ Sony FS5 & X70 (XAVC-L). The most recent Adobe CC upgrade was most helpful, but it’s like I need just one more gear to keep multi-track smooth.

Just to follow up, I did contact Areoquartet, and they sent me software to test if the files were salvageable. The files proved to be fixable, and Areoquartet sent trial software to test fix the files. There was on-screen flashing TRIAL text on the outcome, but I was able to ascertain that the files would be recoverable (both audio and video). I then was able to purchase the Fix Kit on-line (15 day expiration) and was able to fix the corrupted files.

Just a heads-up, you will need to make sure you have adequate space on your hard drive – Original/corrupted files, temp repair & rebuilt files ( so 3 times the space).

So, files repaired, edit complete – “Mischief Managed”

    Cheers,

I was told that they were recorded on a KiPro, so the files are ProRes. Typically what happens w/ files that are corrupted w/ a KiPro is that the drive was improperly ejected. I did contact AJA and they recommended some file recovery services. I’m trying to see if https://www.aeroquartet.com/ might be a solution.

    Thanks,

    Jim
