I’m not sure about the speed, but I will take a look at your suggestion. Once I figure out the speed, I will post back. Thanks so much!

  • Hi Jon,

I appreciate the response. I have contacted some others who just recently received theirs to verify this. When do you expect to receive your’s? When you do, can you let me know if you received a power cable in your’s?

    Thank you again.

And I’m going to answer my own question as I got in touch with GenArts directly, and yes, it is compatible with 10.7 or later.

    FYI.

Try trashing your FCP Preferences, as well as repairing your disk permissions.

I believe you need QuickTime Player Pro since those codecs will be selectable upon exporting, which is not available in QuickTime X.

Try just having it build an image file (.dmg), then use Disk Utility to burn the disc.

Well, you might experience interlacing because you are working with interlaced footage. The only thing I can suggest would be to use the “De-interlace” feature in Frame Controls and put it to the highest setting. DVDs are authored in lower field (if NTSC) and progressive (if PAL or 23.98, or 24). You can always try either switching the field to Lower in your sequence, send it to Compressor, and mess with the frame controls, or change the field order in the Inspector window on the actual file and then adjust frame controls. Interlaced footage going onto DVD is difficult.

  • Download VLC Player. Open up your DVD in Finder and then navigate to your VIDEO_TS folder. You will see a bunch of files, but you want to look for .VOB files. Drag each one into VLC Player individually until you identify the clip that has your program.

Now, down MPEG Streamclip. Take the .VOB file that you identified in VLC PLayer. You can then export a .mov of that program. THEN, import the .mov into FCP, cut where you need to, then export through Compressor.

If you have Premiere, you can just take the .VOB and put it into a sequence and trim it there and send it to Media Encoder.

Yeah, that’s pretty bad. QuickTime Player does an awful job of determining interlacing. If you actually look at your video with the Inspector open, you can see that it is actually playing every third frame. So, it’s not accurate.

For the DVD, are you trying to make the DVD PAL or NTSC?
