    Thanks. Super helpful post.
And hey, if you really feel like divulging the details of the EE/PB settings I’m all ears.

    Thanks,
    Jesse

    Thanks for your response.
I am still a little bit confused.

I will connect 1 cable from the GEN10 (SD sync) to LHe Ref Loop IN

I will connect 1 cable from the GEN 10 (SD syn) to the DVW-A500 Ref IN

    is this correct cabling-wise.

    Also you said:
“Set the dbeta deck (OUT REF option) to EXT and be sure to take it out of EE and put it in PB”

On the DVW-A500 There is a switch labelled “OUT REF” beneath it there are the options “input video” & “ref” you are saying put it onto “ref”??

Finally what is meant by “take it out of EE and put it into PB”

Sorry for all the questions. I have worked in plenty of edit suites with a similar configuration, but I have never had to properly set up the Ref myself, and I want to make sure I do it correctly.

    Thanks

March 22, 2008 at 7:29 pm in reply to: DVD from _TS folders

I have no idea how it was created it has been handed off by a client. It is supposedly an archive of his reel. I guess of the authored DVD of the reel.

It does not seem to play on either a computer or set top.

The files inside the folders are as follows

    VIDEO_TS:

    VIDEO_TS.BUP
    VIDEO_TS.IFO
    VTS_01_0.BUP
    VTS_01_0.IFO
    VTS_01_1.VOB

    AUDIO_TS:

    empty

    I have DVD SP available..

I could probably extract the material via Mac the Ripper/MPEG Streamclip and then recompress/reauthor a new DVD, but I was hoping there was some way to create the correct Disc Image directly with these folders.

Just cant figure out how to get it to play ….

    THANKS!

Also duplicate frames do not show up in Final Cut when Raylighting. Is this normal?

I want to rename clips within Final Cut.

“00165K.MXF.mov” is not very informative to the various editors who work together on these projects.

I appreciate the time saved creating QT wrappers, but this work flow feels a little clunky. Am I missing something?

    OK.
And what if I bring that project over to another station, where the MXF files live in a slightly different directory structure.
Can I relink as I would do with Quicktimes?? Even if the MXF clipnames have all been renamed?

OK, so you’re a big Raylight fan.

I still need to copy the data off of those cards, so I can record new footage over them … and I REALLY need to backup the hard drives, since they seem prone to failure.

  • Gotta love how the MM is apparently worse than ever.

  • Yeah I read those threads as well.
Someone had suggested the workaround of making an offline project to remove the multiclips but even that caused MM to give me an error.

I’m trying to avoid matchframing all of the shots because there are literally hundreds of them in a 1 hr show, but there may be no other choice. Thanks for your help
