I had a similar problem. I, in error downloaded quicktime 10. after that nothing worked properly. I couldn’t even open Final Cut 7. it was a disaster. lucky for me I had made a clone of the hard drive a year earlier. I wiped the hard drive and installed the clone and all is back to normal. quicktime 10 was the culprit.

FCP7 has the same flaw….except you cant fix it. you would think it would be easy math…point a to point b smooth motion.

are you trying to chroma key an h264 source?

on your timeline right click on your movie and click on “composite mode” “travel matte-alpha”. then on a layer below your movie place a white screen. click on the white screen and go to “effects” “video filters” “matte” “widescreen” apply this filter to the white screen. click on “filter” and select 2.35:1. you will see your movie in the proper widescreen. blade cut and reposition your scenes. then render.

I get the same dam line all the time. it’s the camera setting…too much enhancement. shoot the same thing with your still camera and it won’t be there.

sounds like he clicked on “clip enable”. its a right click…its just above “change speed”. I use it all the time to make a clip invisible.
