  • Best audio filter for limiting dynamic range and smoothing out volume variation

I know that’s redundant. When I’m dealing with someone speaking into a mic who constantly goes up in down in volume due to vocal fluctuation or distance from the mic. I’ve tried compressors and peak limiters but they don’t seem to crush the range from lowest to peak. Audio isn’t my best strong suit.

If you go in and turn on loudness it the audio tab if does a pretty decent job.

Compressor is your best bet, or using the range tool to manually lower the peaks. I suggest you play around with compressor a bit though, try some different settings, the logic one included is pretty good. Caution, it will add artifacts, which may make a combo of compressor and range tool with keyframes helpful.
