Thanks, it did work. I am trying a variation on this now where I don’t even have to keyframe the diagonal movement, perhaps you could help…

In this variation I am trying to get the solid to move (from its starting location) only in positive movements in the X plane (so from left to right) and in negative movements in the Y plane (so from top to bottom. I am trying to get it to move a random distance (min/max random) every ‘phase’ (30 frames or so). I think this would be like your grid expression, but the circles in your expression would never go ‘back’, they’d just keep going in one direction. Is this possible? Maybe I should just keyframe.

I was thinking of using a slider, but that may not be the best solution. I saw you’re using markers to animate tutorial, do you think that solution could work?

wow, that worked really nicely, thanks! Would you know how to do the second part of my problem expression? Where I would like the pellet/dot to fade out over time after it has been dropped?

nevermind, there seems to be something much more dubious going on. the code works in its own comp, but something else in this comp is keeping it from acting normal. sorry.

thanks. in ‘user interface colors’ I can make the interface a dark grey, but is there anyway I can make it black?

  • Wow Dan, thanks that really worked! It’s true you guys definitely know what you’re doing here!

I was wondering, just out of curiosity, would it be possible to also change the ‘speed’ of the aforementioned loopOut? In other words, now that I have them all slightly unsynced, would it be further possible to make some loops go faster/slower then other loops using an expression code?
