On my website I have some 1 minute samples. I am using Flip4mac settings for WMedia as I thought it would be easiest for users. As I look at my 1 minute examples on my website, I ponder….why does it take so long to download and start running?

It seems that the porno sites out there have it down in regards to video clips… they are very quick to downoad and start running right away.

So, what are the best settings for 1 minute clips? Quick download and fast start.

Input would be appreciated!! Good or Bad.

I started with 7.5 on a G-4 800mh running on OS9. I wanted to get on OS10. So I bought a re-conditioned G-4 dual 1.44mh on the web and upgraded to 8.2.2. What a difference. Fast as the 7.5 on OS9 and so much more… You could probably pick up a G-4 1.44 mh cheap and you will have a great back up.

    just my opinion,

    Thanks Kieran,
I have DVDStudioPro. So, I used QuicktimePro to convert the audio to AIFF and then dragged the Audio into DVDSP. I then dragged the wmv video file into DVDSP. I created a quick menu to Play it and burnt a DVD.

    Thanks for your help,

I conveted the audio to AIFF. converting the movie did not have an MPEG2 choice but it did have MPEG4 as an option. so, I chose that one. It is going to a couple of hours to convert. What is the difference between mpeg 2 and mpeg4 anyway?
    thanks

  • Thank you all for your help and ideas.

Media 100 using the Cross Stretch transition at 50 % did just what I wanted with a split vertically down the middle of the screen. I spent a lot of time messing with the Boris RED but every little change took so long that it was too frustrating to wait as I had deadlines to hit before Chritmas.

    thanks again,
I will get it on my website if you want to see it.

  • Thanks again, but I can’t get it onto my desk top to import or open in Boris or Media 100. The split with RED 3 zipped on to my desktop. But this FX5 file just opens up to the code within Creative Cow. Sorry to bother you again, but we wre getting closer.

  • Thanks very musch for your efforts. But I have Boris RED 2.5 and I get the messgae “Cannot open this settings file. Upgrade to Boris RED to open it”. Then in Media 100 when I try to import it I get “not enoug memory”.

  • In Boris RED. I am so close but very frustrated. I have both movies on different tracks. I selected the top track, in controls i selected the crop, unlocked, set to half screen vertical. So now both movie tracks are on the left side of the screen on top of each other. they both run but you can only see one at at time by shutting the eye on one track. I want them to play on opposite sides of the screen. Right now the left side is black.

I know it can be done. Please give me a few more instructions.
    Thanks
