First, trash prefs and see if that works.
Next delete the analyzation file to see if that works.
Next delete cache to see if that works (you can do this on a sequence or event level so you don’t have to trash all of it).
If that doesn’t work:
Try taking that clip offline (find the alias in the library and delete it).
Or reimport the clip and add back to timeline.

ProRes 4444 is a good choice as along as the rest of the post workflow is cool with it. At this particular time it’s more universal than AVC Ultra. Either way, you’ll be good.

Are you using the import window?
If so, bypass it, and drag and drop the mxf files in to the library (as long as leave in place is deleted innyoir import prefs).

Yes just leave it as Linear (Fastest).

Go to the inspector and show the audio enhancements. There’s a “Noise Removal” tool there with a slider.

There’s a built in text template called Typewriter that can reveal words by the word.
It’s not very easy to use.
Typically what I do is type out a whole sentence, stretch the title out over the pertinent length, then cut where it needs to be cut to follow the VO. Then I simply delete all the words that I don’t need out of each title. This allows me to keep track of all the words, and keeps typing to a minimum.
