Right – sound can convert our 23.98 sequence. But the composer can not – he needs it in 24 or 29.97. I don’t know how to make that happen for him with a QuickTime movie with window burn timecode that corresponds to the QuickTime timecode and not the original sequence.

We had this problem and unfortunately it turned out to be a bad firewire port on the camera (apparently this specific camera has problems with the ports sometimes). However, if you have iMovie or a simple movie program on your computer – try getting that software to recognize your camera is plugged in. If that software recognizes the camera – you know you have a FCP issue. If not, it might be a hardware issue (like ourse was).
