Hi John
I tried for the 1920×1080 final render as you suggested project setting 804 still the same narrowing of width *****infact I even did 820 and more same issue… yet the 1280 x720 one as explained works great!Perhaps I have something in my final render template settings maybe creating this issue ?
I am doing the usual to the media clip when added to time line in pan and crop match output aspectanymore thoughts?

Many thanks John for jumping in and explaining – I had spotted one of your posts on this quite a while back re Letter box effect look and doing all effects editing etc rather than pan and crop to get black bar letterbox approach
One thing with final render settingsIf rendering to 1920 x1080 it pulls in the actual width the right and left side and not quite full screen Width and gap when viewed with whatever player. My render template was MP4 (AVC/AAC)
1280 x720 was perfect (template used MP4 (AVC/AAC) great all around I get the bar top and bottom effect and full width which I want for render template I use of 1280 x720 which frankly all I need for youtube and website pages
****I was wondering why the larger final render of 1920 x1080 one did not go full width?

September 20, 2014 at 9:27 pm in reply to: How was this simple flash effect created please anyoneThanks John for this and Norman.
Yes I think the window behind him creates that illusion of the light flash effect when it goes off mostly being on him.As you said frame by frame one can see more to it and it clearly does spreads out but very fast. I opened up your veg file John and I copied and applied the clip attributes to my own clip and very different end result talk to camera on our one i.e. the entire clip noticeable gets brighter not specific to mostly head like his ….. due to no window used that he was right behind – hence different look and end result he got!
Useful learning curve though as Norman said it really a simple white flash transition /effect.Many thanks guys.

September 17, 2014 at 9:01 pm in reply to: How was this simple flash effect created please anyoneThanks Norman was hoping be a little more easier then involving key frames Hmmm, I noticed the flash in his is specifically done to be only over his face neck area rather then the entire flash lighting up all the video almost like a lens flash flare.

September 10, 2014 at 6:05 pm in reply to: Newblue Titler pro 2 missing dll will not load errorOk Folks Latest on why I was not able to get Newblue Pro Titler 3 working etc and simple fix New blue told me
I was wanting to use a few other colors applied to words in a sentence for text media generator ….and now an interested debate going on here on this thread !
With trying to get vegas own titler’s to this as it tends to change the entire senatnce not just your one word and seems even in pro 13 not simple highlight that one word and choose another color Nope – I am surprised wow!
Yes I could create a j-peg in Photoshop or say PowerPoint etc for my ideal scenario etc sure… but wanted a quick solution while in vegas pro
Hence one of the reasons ( and many more) me wanting to use newblue Pro Titler and now I got it working a breeze to do this
Ok, How did I fix the warning and issue newblue titler pro 3 (and 2) could not work on my system (brand new high spec laptop )
I Emailed newblue support fab quick response all along to date …(impressed! and they asked me what my graphics card I used was and what driver latest version was etc
and then get back to them Plus they explained how to find and do this.
He then replied back to my info and it was simply a matter of telling my card in the setting control panel to add sony vegas exe and also newblue titler stand alone exe
Below from them they sent me HOW to do it in case others need to know and fix
I wanted to add here for others it may prove helpful:
This is what they said:
You have a “Mobile” video card. Mobile cards can work in one of two modes:
1. Full Powered – compatible mode
2. Low Powered – not compatible modeTherefore, you must make sure that Mobile cards stay in full powered mode when your video editor and Titler is used. Here’s a couple of possible ways I have been given by other users:
Number 1:
a. Open Control Panel -> Nvidia control panel (if you don’t have one, install nvidia drivers from nvidia.com).
b. 3D Settings -> Manage 3D Settings – >Program Settings.
c. Select the Titler Standalone EXE and the Vegas EXE from the list or add the programs using the browser.
d. Choose option “High-performance NVIDIA processor”, if there is this option.Number 2:
I went to the NVDIA Settings with the right click from the desktop. Then I selected 3D Settings and the Tab for program settings. There I could select any program (the Titler Standalone EXE and the Vegas EXE) and select it to use automated settings, integrated graphics or NVIDIA processor, so I selected NVIDIA.(NewBlueFX)
that was it and in 1 minute I fixed it!

September 10, 2014 at 4:18 am in reply to: Newblue Titler pro 2 missing dll will not load errorYes have sent them details etc anyways
Thanks.By the way using sony vegas pro 13 media generator and title text on solid color… How do you make one word or a couple be a different color to the rest of the sentence?
I have tried using legacy text and tried using title and text from the options to create text
I want to have one or two of the words in a short sentence a different color to the rest for example I have a sentence in white on a black background and simply want to apply red to one or two words in that Sentence of white words but if you try applying to one word by highlighting no matter what the entire sentence not the words you want specifically gets changed!
Any ideas?

September 6, 2014 at 7:12 pm in reply to: Neat effect pillarbox open slow reveal how to duplicate pleaseThanks Norman…I was not sure what to do with your veg file other then open it and yes the fact it is an effect I wanted as such.
So was not really able to use it and know what to even do with it to other than see you applied to some text slow letterbox reveal – but did not teach me HOW to actually go about and do what I wanted -):
(please understand for me literally using Vegas is totally brand new let alone any video editing to me!)I know you can make the film pillar box look using pan and crop it was more an animated automatic reveal similar to what you did …
So today I spent some time searching on youtube for the term ‘letterbox reveal sony vegas’ and eventually someone kind of had something vaguely similar (nothing really out there I could spot) using key frames
so I played and bingo worked it out myself using key frames for letter box animated crop effect and applied ideal timing open and close and applying it to a few split clips then merging with each other ( my first real attempt ever using any key frames!)
and done exactly what I needed ….so again thanks for trying and reaching out Norman

September 6, 2014 at 6:54 pm in reply to: Handbrake neat settings to share and your thoughtsThanks Norman for trying to explain I have to have simple basic language all this techo talk to be honest I glaze over it goes right over my head !
For me how I learn is like this: ok in this option field select this or input this in this setting choose this etc
I think I understand some of what you said….anwyways and spent ages also looking at previous posts on this forum to see others and screen shotswow everyone has an opinion of settings for same template especially over on youtube and their tuts and choosing settings
Some insists single pass other say do 2 pass …some insist upload to youtube go for high bit rate others says rubbish so confusing
Even this forum and some of other kind forums main team who respond here for example Stephen Mann and his main concept settings via: https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/24/972308#972349
high bit rate he went for in his screen shot max 24,000 and average 12,000
oh well many thanks for your help Norman
