  • Never mind…..just figured it out. Where it says 6 channels is letting you know that is number needed for 5.1. Then you add tracks just below that.

  • Thanks John. Yes, I did make the decision last night to go ahead and buy a new computer….heading out it little while to make the purchase. Leaning toward getting MacPro, but initially was thinking of getting MacBook Pro. Still kind of on the fence.

I had a feeling that might be the reason. Thank you for clearing that up.

Never mind, I figured it out. Avid likes making things rather difficult on their site. Thanks for your help!

Thank you. Yes, I ended up figuring it out before getting your response, but still have not made progress due to the business of linking accounts. When I hit “link this account” nothing happens. Any thoughts?

November 10, 2010 at 5:14 pm in reply to: mapping audio for layoff

OKay, better late than never….just realized I never sent return post. I wanted to say the issue I was having was clicking in the wrong area of the audio track in timeline. You can pretty much click anywhere and get it, but I was clicking on the track number on right, which is the one place you will only see channel 1 and 2. Weird it’s that way, but silly of me to not try another spot. It just seemed logical that you would click on the number. Anyway, wanted to post in case anyone else was making that silly mistake.

    Thanks for your help!

Thanks John. The thing is I have selected 4 channel outputs in my sequence settings, but when I try to map the audio channels (by right clicking on track numbers in timeline) I only have the option of 1 and 2.
    Any ideas? Thanks again.

December 13, 2009 at 9:45 pm in reply to: HD to SD downconvert – Best Results Inquiry

I was searching for some answers and saw this thread. I am downconverting to SD and I have to do it using software. I’ll use Compressor as you suggest John Fishback. I would like to downconvert without letterbox. When I do this, some images look more noticeably stretched vertically. Is there a setting I need to change? Thanks in advance for any help.
