  • Thanks for that insight and your quick response, Glenn!

We’ll make a new ProRes master of the spanned clips with no LUT and a proxy of that with one.

    Hi Jeremy et al:

I’m finally getting back to troubleshooting this issue. And…I solved it! I went digging into the Library -> Application Support and found some extraneous FxFactory stuff. Thought I had purged my system of all of it before. Anyway, once sending that stuff to the trash, Log and Transfer window was able to show and import the clips.

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions. Hopefully this info will help someone else out.

    Back to work!
    Jen

Hey Jeremy. I tried that and unfortunately it didn’t make a difference. I appreciate everyone’s suggestions, though. Let me know if you think of anything else. Thanks!

Yes, I trashed prefs before. But I did it again just for kicks and still nada.

    Hi guys:

Yes, I took the same hard drive back to the production company, and they were able to ingest the same material. So, it shouldn’t be a file structure problem.

    Thanks,
    Jen (female, btw 🙂

Thanks, Shane & Jeremy. It was the 3700. I just installed the AVC Intra Decoder for Mac the other day, so I know I have the most up to date version of that.

I didn’t offload the card contents, someone else at the production company did. And they were able to ingest the material via Log and Transfer on their systems. I have the resulting Quicktimes from them, so I’ve been able to edit. But I sure would like to figure out what is off with my set up so I can work with other material soon. Bit of a head scratcher!

Thanks for all the tips, guys. I went out to buy Tech Tool Pro the other day since my copy of Disk Warrior is not Leopard-compatible. The Apple Store sold me a non-Leopard compatible version of Tech Tool Pro though (even the new version has been out for months! Grrrr!)

Anyway, while I’m waiting for my web order of Tech Tools, I decided to upgrade to 10.5.3, with a QT update (to 7.5) as well. So far, all seems to be behaving normally!!! I’ve been editing for a few hours now with no issues. Previously I couldn’t go more than an hour without the major slow down. Once the slow down happened before, I couldn’t close and reopen FCP without rebooting the computer. That problem has definitely gone away since then. Hopefully Ms. MBP is back to her previously zippy self. I’ll post any other issues, though.

    Thanks again!
