I strongly think the problem is the voltage settings on your PC. Noticed this when overclocking my EVGA X58 with a GTX560. I can see where the system will just stop responding/rendering and the GPU drops to zero.
Once I figured out the correct settings she blazes %100 full GPU renders. Chances are you are overheating. Might be one of your bridges that may not give you temp readings.
    Good luck! ~J

  • Thanks man! I just did the USB 3.0 update and it didn’t help. Must need another bus I guess. Just got a message that it’s exceeding the bandwidth. Gonna try the Avermedia USB 2.0 capture with a shuttle. Want to buy an intensity shuttle? Bummer!
Mainly looking to eventually use 2 HD USB capture devices on a laptop so I won’t be adding the additional bus.
    Thanks anyway. ~J

  • Where did you find the firmware updates? I’m trying to run 2 intensity shuttle on my EVGA X58 and it seems that only 1 can start. Windows sees the other one but it says that it can not start it.

Hey guys. So what is the best DVD rendering settings. I’ve done all kinds of tests with “upper field”, “progressive”, CBR, VBR, etc…

I make really kick ass looking vids that are perfect on preview and other formats (yes they look good as an MPG-2) but every time I render to DVD and have my DVD player up-convert it to my HD monitor it has a little pixelization EVEN THOUGH other industry dvd’s look brilliant.

Why or what can I do to smooth out the pixelization that DVD Architect/Vegas make that the DVD player notices.
This is driving me crazy… Thanks guys! ~J

Great post. I have the same issue. Looks great on everything except when my DVD/BluRay player up-converts the DVD to my high def tv then it’s a little pixelated but when I play any other Industry DVD’s on it it looks totally awesome.
I think it’s an issue with the way Vegas or DVD Architect renders or something like that. I guess I’ll try Neat. I don’t see why the in field shoot would make any difference for this issue.
Anyway I’ll be sure and post the solution if I find one.
Thanks and please keep posting ideas! ~JVonD

That’s cool! Thanks for the post. So are you able to set all faders to work with Vegas? I know in ProTools you can only get 8 faders to work at one time. I’d like to have an 18 track setup using the nanokontroler’s knobs and faders.
I bought Vegas Pro 9 for video editing and now that I’m trying to use Vegas as a DAW for live sound I’m wondering if it’s “the way to go” over other DAW’s.
    Thanks again! ~JVonD
