I know in AE you must select RGB+Alpha, again not the default. If you did this then it’s a codec problem.
I haven’t tried that codec, but it’s on my list of things to do.

Click on the file in project and double check (at the bottom) that is says Width x Height x 32. If it says 24, something has gone wrong.

Put the media on the timeline then right click on the media, select properties and media tab and set the alpha channel type.

Alpha channels are not set on by default.

Yes, do try the 0 memory thing and please, please let me know your results.
I set mine at 8GB because I have 24GB (33% of total) Your setting of 8GB of 12GB (75%) may be a bit much.
Just my opinion.

When I use RAM preview I set it to 8192, I only turn it off when rendering.

Just for grins, go into Options|Preferences|Video and reduce the “Dynamic RAM preview max (MB)” to 0 and see if that changes how fast it renders after the first few hundred frames. It always works for me.

Yes, that is usually the case, but I was using an example. Vegas can handle giga-pixel pictures, but I haven’t seen many of those.

Yes, If you use the VASST closed caption assistant plugin. https://store.vasst.com/store/caption-assistant-closed-caption-plugin-for-sony-vegas-pro.aspx

I don’t use it because all of my captions are subtitles in DVDA, and I have developed scripts and programs to work with them. But it is a good tool.
